Stop Competing on Price. Start Competing on Trust.

When someone compares a travel agency's site to Traveloka side-by-side, the agency loses on price, on selection, on instant booking. The Wanderlust Travel template doesn't try to win that fight. Instead, it positions the agency's curation and personal service as a different category entirely: a page where the destination sells the dream, and the WhatsApp CTA converts that dream into a real conversation with someone who knows how to make it happen.

Who This Is For

Established travel agencies serving Indonesian travelers planning trips to international destinations, offering eight curated destination packages spanning Bali, Japan, the Maldives, Santorini, Kenya, the Amalfi Coast, Costa Rica, and Patagonia. The template is built for agencies competing against online travel platforms like Traveloka and Tiket as well as other tour operators, positioning on curated itineraries and personal WhatsApp consultation rather than the cheapest seat or the largest catalog. Market context: the post-pandemic travel recovery has reset buyer expectations, travelers research on mobile and decide on the agency that responds fastest with a real human, and conversion happens in a WhatsApp thread rather than a checkout cart.

What This Template Covers

  • Immersive Destination Gallery: Full-bleed photography optimized for fast loading: the Maldives sunrise, the Amalfi cliffs, the Bali villa pool. The images do the selling. The itinerary answers the follow-up questions.
  • Structured Package Catalog: Eight destination packages organized by style and duration, so visitors self-qualify before reaching out, and arrive at the WhatsApp conversation already knowing what they want.
  • WhatsApp Inquiry Integration: A consultation CTA that connects visitors directly to your team for personalized planning. No form submission, no waiting for an email reply, no commitment required to start the conversation.
  • Itinerary Highlights: Day-by-day highlights that communicate what makes each package distinct without front-loading the logistics. Visitors get enough to want the trip. The rest happens in the consultation.
  • Zero Runtime JavaScript: Built with Astro, deployed on Cloudflare's global edge. Destination imagery loads instantly and the full inquiry flow completes in 3 taps. That's why Core Web Vitals hits 96/99 on both mobile and desktop.

Full Site Architecture: 15 Pages

Fifteen pages anchored by the eight destination package pages. Each one is a self-contained trip brief with itinerary, inclusions, and a WhatsApp inquiry CTA. The /trip-finder and /destinations sections handle upper-funnel research. The /plan form handles the custom inquiry that doesn't fit a pre-built package.

How to Evaluate the Demo

  • Hero impact: Five seconds on the landing page. Do you want to travel somewhere specific, or does it read like a generic travel brochure that could belong to any agency?
  • Package navigation: Try finding a package for a specific destination or travel style without reading every listing. If you have to scan every card, the filtering isn't doing its job.
  • WhatsApp CTA placement: On a package page, where does the inquiry button appear relative to the itinerary? It should be present at the point of maximum interest, not at the bottom after the excitement has already peaked.
  • Mobile scroll: Open the demo on your phone. Travel inspiration starts on a 6-inch screen. Check whether the destination photography carries the same emotional weight at mobile resolution as it does on desktop.
  • Accessibility: Open PageSpeed Insights on the demo. Headings, contrast ratios, alt text, and keyboard navigation all pass automated accessibility checks.
  • Security: Run the SecurityHeaders.com scan above. Grade A means every visitor is protected by the full set of HTTP security headers: CSP, HSTS, X-Frame-Options, and more.
"A traveler who books through an agency isn't looking for the cheapest flight. They're buying confidence that someone who knows what they're doing is handling the details. The website's job is to establish that confidence before the first WhatsApp message is sent."
THE BRIEF

What We Were Hired to Solve

The Challenge

A travel agency that tries to compete with Traveloka on price will lose every time. The real challenge was building a site that makes price comparison feel irrelevant. One that sells expertise, curation, and the confidence that this agency will actually deliver what they're showing.

The Approach

Inspiration first, inquiry second. An immersive destination gallery creates the emotional pull: the Bali villa, the Patagonia trail, the Maldives sunrise. Then the WhatsApp CTA redirects that energy into a personal consultation, where the agency's real advantage kicks in.

THE PROCESS

How We Built It

8 stages · Click each to see the output and reasoning

01

Discovery & Goals

Mapping the agency's destination specialization, client profile, and the consultation that starts every booking.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

A project brief covering destination categories, package format, client personas, pricing transparency approach, and a north-star metric: the WhatsApp consultation inquiry. The brief also documented what distinguishes this agency from a self-serve portal, and the answer became the site's positioning.

WHY IT MATTERS

Travel agencies don't win on selection or price. They win on trust and curation. Defining the WhatsApp inquiry as the north-star meant every section was built to move a visitor from inspiration to personal contact, not toward a checkout flow they'd abandon halfway through.

02

Design & Brand Direction

A visual system that makes visitors feel the destination before they've read a single itinerary line.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

A brand style guide built around full-bleed destination photography: aspirational typography, destination card layouts that lead with emotion rather than price, and a component library structured for itinerary highlights and package storytelling.

WHY IT MATTERS

Travel is justified logically but bought emotionally. The design had to evoke the actual experience (the light in Santorini, the scale of Patagonia, the pace of a Bali villa morning) so that visiting the page feels like the beginning of planning, not a catalog search.

03

Sitemap & Architecture

A page structure that turns inspiration into inquiry in three taps.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

Fifteen pages organized around the buyer's journey: destination gallery and featured packages on the homepage, eight individual package pages with itinerary highlights and WhatsApp CTAs, a trip finder, a destinations guide, and a custom planning form. All oriented toward one endpoint.

WHY IT MATTERS

A traveler moves from 'I want to go somewhere' to 'I want someone to help me make this happen.' The architecture was designed to shorten that distance. Each section brings them one step closer to reaching out, not further into an information maze.

04

Development

Zero runtime JavaScript. Immersive destination imagery that loads instantly.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

A staging site built with Astro across 15 pages. Zero JS in the browser, Cloudflare edge delivery optimized for large destination photography. The Bali villa gallery and Patagonia package pages load at the same speed as the homepage.

WHY IT MATTERS

Travel inspiration hits in spare moments: a Sunday evening, a lunch break scrolling through a friend's photos. A site that takes three seconds to show a destination image loses that window to whichever brand loads first.

05

QA & Performance Audit

96/99 Core Web Vitals. Grade A security. Every inquiry flow verified before launch.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

QA report confirming 96/99 Core Web Vitals on mobile and desktop, Grade A on SecurityHeaders.com, all eight package pages tested, every WhatsApp inquiry path verified end-to-end across devices and browsers.

WHY IT MATTERS

A broken WhatsApp button at the moment a traveler is ready to inquire doesn't generate a support ticket. It generates an inquiry to a competitor. Every flow was confirmed before launch.

06

On-Page & Local SEO

Built to rank for 'travel agent Jakarta' and every destination search keyword.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

TravelAgency structured data, package and destination schema, meta titles targeting specific searches like 'Japan tour from Jakarta' and 'Maldives honeymoon package', and Google Business Profile sync, so the agency appears at the point when a traveler moves from dreaming to planning.

WHY IT MATTERS

Someone searching 'Bali villa retreat package from Jakarta' isn't browsing. They've already decided to travel and they're choosing who to trust with the details. Ranking for that search puts the agency in front of a buyer who is one conversation away from booking.

07

Launch & Handover

Live, owned, and independently managed from day one.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

The agency's site goes live under their own domain with SSL, security headers, and CMS access in place. A 30-minute walkthrough covers package updates, destination content changes, and seasonal promotions, so the team manages the catalog without waiting on an agency.

WHY IT MATTERS

Travel packages shift constantly: new visa requirements, airline route changes, seasonal property availability. An agency that controls its own catalog keeps the site accurate, and accurate itinerary information is what converts inspiration into an actual booking conversation.

08

Ongoing Support

Monthly monitoring so the site keeps converting during every travel season.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

Monthly performance reports, Core Web Vitals tracking, package and destination updates, and priority response for urgent changes, with seasonal content refreshes timed to Lebaran, school holidays, and year-end peaks.

WHY IT MATTERS

Travel bookings concentrate around a handful of annual peaks. Monthly support ensures the site enters each peak with current packages promoted and inquiry flows working, so the agency captures bookings when travel intent is highest, not after.
