Privacy Policy

Introduction

This privacy policy applies to the Hirup mobile app (io.eranya.hirup) published by Eranya Digital ("we", "us"). Hirup — Multi-source air quality for Indonesia: live AQI, forecasts, and a morning digest.

This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and the choices you have. By using Hirup you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

Account information

Hirup offers optional accounts so your data can sync across devices. You can sign in with: Email & password, Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, Anonymous (guest). When you create an account we store:

• Account identifiers (user ID; plus email and display name if you sign in with Email, Google, or Apple)
• Your saved locations — name and approximate coordinates — synced to your account

Diagnostics and usage data

• Usage analytics: anonymous events such as screens viewed and features used, to understand how the app is used and improve it.
• Crash reports: device model, OS version, and technical stack traces when the app crashes, so we can fix bugs. Crash reports do not include your personal content.

Device Permissions

Hirup requests the following permissions, and only for the reasons stated:

• Location (while in use): Used to find air-quality monitoring stations near you. Your coordinates are rounded (to about 1 km) before any request and are used only to fetch readings for your area; Hirup does not keep a location history.
• Notifications: Delivers your optional morning air-quality digest and threshold alerts.
• Run at startup (Android): Restores your scheduled morning digest after the device restarts.

Accounts are optional — and used only for sync

Hirup works immediately with an on-device guest profile; no sign-in is required to use the app. Signing in with Email, Google, or Apple is optional and links that guest profile to an account so your saved locations sync across your devices. We never sell your data.

Performance & diagnostics

Alongside crash reports and anonymous usage analytics, Hirup uses Firebase Performance Monitoring to measure app speed and stability (for example, screen-load and network timings). This data is technical and is not used to identify you.

Your live location is not stored or linked to you

Your device's GPS position is used only to fetch nearby readings and is not saved as a history. The saved locations you deliberately add are stored on your device and, if you sign in, synced to your account.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide the app's features and sync your data across devices
• To fix bugs and improve stability and performance
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

Hirup uses the following third-party services, which process data under their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google): Account sign-in and storage of the account data described above. Privacy policy
• Google Analytics for Firebase: Anonymous usage statistics (screens viewed, feature usage). Privacy policy
• Firebase Crashlytics (Google): Crash reports and diagnostics so we can fix bugs. Privacy policy

Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and its associated data at any time — see How to delete your Hirup account. Deletion requests are completed within 30 days.

Crash and diagnostic data is retained by Firebase for up to 90 days.

Security

Data transmitted by the app uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Account data is stored with reputable cloud providers with access restricted to what is needed to operate the service.

Children's Privacy

Hirup is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at hello@eranya.digital and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
